About the Center

CPIC brings together faculty, students, researchers and practitioners to lead change within community practice through innovative community engagement and partnerships, research and education and training with a focus on access to care, population health and health outcomes.

To lead innovation in community practice through education, transformation and entrepreneurship.

To become an internationally recognized Center that advances pharmacy practice and specializes in developing innovative and sustainable community-based programs.

Our Projects

START-SD banner logo

Working to increase access to and effectiveness of prevention, treatment and recovery services for substance use disorders in South 啵啵直播秀.

START-SD is a federal program funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) through five Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) grants to complete work to increase access to and effectiveness of prevention, treatment, and recovery services for substance use disorders in South 啵啵直播秀. Following the initial planning grant, START-SD has grew to become a three-pronged project: with focuses on support for opioid use disorder, support for psychostimulant use disorder and overdose response. Currently, START-SD is engaged in work to increase access to treatment, recovery, and prevention for substance use disorder and support reentry for individuals transitioning out of SD prison systems.


BREATHE-SD

Expanding public health capacity by supporting respiratory care recruitment, training, placement and job development in rural communities in South 啵啵直播秀.

Bridging Information and Resources to Transform Health for South 啵啵直播秀 parents (BIRTH-SD) seeks to improve perinatal health outcomes for South 啵啵直播秀's parents.

The primary goal of the BIRTH-SD program is to improve perinatal health outcomes for South 啵啵直播秀's parents. There are currently two projects that fall under the BIRTH-SD umbrella: BIRTH-SD-AIM and BIRTH-SD-UNITE. All BIRTH-SD programs are housed within the South 啵啵直播秀 Perinatal Quality Collaborative.

Mobile Clinic Program

The South 啵啵直播秀 Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program is the South 啵啵直播秀 Department of Health鈥檚 newest program focused on preventing cardiovascular disease and stroke in South 啵啵直播秀. CPIC is partnering with the SD-DOH on this program by developing and implementing a mobile clinic that will improve access to care resources for cardiovascular disease and diabetes in South 啵啵直播秀鈥檚 rural communities. The Mobile Clinic Program will launch in Summer 2024.

Public health researchers from South 啵啵直播秀 State University鈥檚 Community Practice Innovation Center presented two posters at the American Public Health Association annual meeting, which was held in Minneapolis at the end of October.

30 professionals under 30 transforming public health in South 啵啵直播秀

Three researchers at the Community Practice Innovation Center at South 啵啵直播秀 State University recently compiled a 鈥30 under 30鈥 list for public health in South 啵啵直播秀. The list was presented via poster presentation at the American Public Health Association annual meeting in October.

SDSU faculty founds South 啵啵直播秀 Perinatal Quality Collaborative

The South 啵啵直播秀 Perinatal Quality Collaborative was recently founded at South 啵啵直播秀 State University, making South 啵啵直播秀 the final state in the Unites States to have its own perinatal quality collaborative.
