Student Activities
Students in the Dairy and Food Science Department have numerous opportunities to enhance their education through gaining practical experience and networking with industry professionals. Some of the ways that our students diversify their education is through clubs, judging teams, and internships. Two clubs for students in the department include the Dairy Club and the Food Science Club. Three judging teams for our students include Dairy Cattle Judging, Dairy Products Judging and Dairy Challenge.

Dairy Club
The SDSU Dairy Club is an active student organization for those interested in the dairy industry.
Food Science Club
The SDSU Food Science Club is an active student organization for those interested in the food science industry.
Judging Teams
The Dairy and Food Science department has strong dairy cattle and dairy products judging programs as a part of the curriculum. The department also has a long history of participating in the dairy cattle and dairy products evaluation contests. Over the years they have won 23 National Championships and numerous regional contests.
Scholarships
Through the support of alumni, industry and friends Dairy and Food Science (DFS) students are supported through many scholarships totaling over $175,000 and including scholarships for incoming students, upper class and graduate students.
Conferences and à£à£Ö±²¥Ðãs
Each year our department has several students participating in regional and national competitions and conferences. Recently we have students participate in the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Conference and American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) Conference.
