Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Doom, associate professor of mechanical engineering at SDSU, is an expert in the development of numerical algorithms and large-scale LES and DNS in computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Dr. Doom’s research is to develop high fidelity simulation tools using high performance computing (HPC) related to energy power systems (gas turbines and internal combustion engines). His interests are in computational fluid dynamics, combustion, heat transfer, multi-phase flows, numerical analysis, biofilms and high-performance parallel computing. Dr. Doom’s previous work experience was at Sandia National Laboratories and GE Global Research.
