- American Meteorological Society, member since 2002. Currently serving on Board for Representation, Accessibility, Inclusion and Diversity. Past positions held include chair and conference chair for Committee on Applied Climatology and conference chair for Board on Atmospheric Biogeosciences.
- South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Association of Agricultural Extension Professionals, member since 2012. President 2021-23. Vice president 2019-21. Finance chair for national meeting in 2015.
Extension Responsibilities
- Point of contact for state and university climatology outreach and extension.
- Coordinate and lead SDSU Extension projects on weather, climate and agriculture.
- Liaison with South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Mesonet group, state fire meteorologist, university personnel, state and federal agencies on weather, climate, natural hazards and emergency management.
Some projects include: North Central Climate Collaborative, Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Climate Change Resilience, South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã liaison for U.S. Department of Agriculture Northern Plains Climate Hub, South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Drought Task Force, South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Department of Agriculture pesticide education, U.S. Drought Monitor coordination, pesticide spray tool.
