Dewey J. DeBoer was editor of the 1922 Jackrabbit and president of the student chapter of the American Association of Engineers from 1921 to 1922. Upon graduation from South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State College, he joined the General Electric Co., and spent three years in the GE Central Station Engineering Department. His career included design of generating stations and substations with Sargent & Lundy; transmission engineering with Harza Engineering and the Loup River Public Power District of Columbus, Nebraska; Principal Power Engineer, Office of War Utilities, Washington, D.C. and executive manager, Nebraska Public Power Systems, Columbus. During his retirement, he served on an advisory committee for the Federal Power Commission and on a survey team for the Agency for International Development in Taiwan, the Philippines, Iran and West Pakistan. DeBoer was a Fellow and Life member of IEEE, and was registered professional engineer.
