Robert B. Yule entered the engineering field after graduating from South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State College. His work history included: rodman, C and NW Railroad, Huron, 1924; designer, Indiana Highway Department, 1925; resident engineer, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, 1939; designer, Day and Zimmerman, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1940; assistant engineer, Hardesty and Hanover, New York City, 1944 and chief structural engineer, General Industries, Inc., Philadelphia, 1947. He then served as vice-president, president and partner in Yule, Jordan and Associates in Philadelphia until his retirement in 1968. He worked with industrial, civil, mechanical, electrical, highway and bridge design. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and was awarded the SDSU Distinguished Alumnus à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã in 1972. Yule was responsible for several sections of Pennsylvania Turnpike. He designed many miles of Interstate Highways and designed and supervised construction of a pharmacy school building at Temple University. He served on a task committee for ASCE called, Strength of Old Steel Truss Bridges. His wife Hazel Thompson Yule was a 1923 SDSU graduate in general science.
