Six receive SDSU Presidential Medallion
South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University President Barry Dunn bestowed the SDSU Presidential Medallion upon six individuals Tuesday afternoon for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Merkt named director of the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Art Museum
Donna Merkt, who is currently the director of museum experience at Oklahoma City’s Gaylord-Pickens Museum and the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, has been named the director of the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Art Museum following a national search. Merkt replaces Lynn Verschoor, who retired after 20 years in the position.

South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University faculty and staff will develop a series of professional development opportunities to gain a broader understanding of American Indian history, culture and current issues. As part of the university’s Wokini Initiative, the professional development series will help foster a culturally responsive and supportive campus environment for American Indian students to support the goal of their increasing retention and graduation rates.
