Simon’s art a testimony to braving the storm
Dr. Lynn Sargeant has been working on updating the art in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences office. Located on her back wall are two new pieces of art, creating an eye-catching backdrop to the many Zoom meetings she holds and an opportunity to highlight the work of students in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. These pieces of art were created by Alison Simon, a fifth-year senior in the School of Design, the School of Communication and Journalism and the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences.
APLU honors Uilk for teaching excellence
Nicholas Uilk, an instructor in South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University’s Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, has been named a recipient of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities national teaching awards in recognizing excellence in agricultural sciences teaching and student engagement.
New Center of Excellence to Advance Bison Research, Knowledge
The future of America’s national mammal continued to brighten this week as officials from South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University, the National Bison Association and the National Buffalo Foundation formally launched the Center of Excellence for Bison Studies, to be headquartered at SDSU’s West River Research and Extension facility in Rapid City.
Anand receives 2020 International Dairy Foods Association Research à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã in Dairy Foods Processing
South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University professor Sanjeev Anand is not resting on his laurels and has many more research ideas underway. The IDFA is the sponsor of this ADSA award, which Anand said is the highest research award given in the discipline. Anand was also recognized for his excellence in the classroom with the 2018 IDFA Teaching à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã.
