Profilet and DeJong Family Fund First Endowed Position in SDSU’s College of Education and Human Sciences

Through the generosity of two South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University alumni, the university has established its first endowed faculty position in the College of Education and Human Sciences. The Tate Profilet and Mary DeJong Family Endowed Director of Early Childhood Education was formalized at an Oct. 22 investiture ceremony, paving the way for a new era of the early childhood education program at State.

Six receive SDSU Presidential Medallion

South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University President Barry Dunn bestowed the SDSU Presidential Medallion upon six individuals Tuesday afternoon for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

University Aviation Association honors Christensen

Cody Christensen, an associate professor at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University, received the V.L. Laursen à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã at the University Aviation Association’s 73rd Annual Education Conference held virtually in October. Christensen, who has led the SDSU aviation program since 2014, is the first one from SDSU to receive an award from the UAA.

Ribbon Cutting to be Held Sept. 6 for New South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (ADRDL) on the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University campus in Brookings will be held on Sept. 6. The ribbon cutting and a short program will begin at 4:30 p.m. and guided public tours will immediately follow the program, with the last tour departing at 7:30 p.m.

Harvey Dunn prairie paintings exhibit on display

Many of Harvey Dunn’s most iconic paintings are on display in Harvey Dunn: Fences, Cows, Plows and oxen at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Art Museum through Aug. 11. This exhibition, drawn from the museum’s extensive collection of Harvey Dunn paintings, celebrates the hard-working agricultural backbone of the state of South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã.

Flourish: Marjolein Dallinga and Jantje Visscher - opens at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Art Museum

"Flourish: Marjolein Dallinga & Jantje Visscher", a Jodi Lundgren curated exhibition, opens today at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Art Museum and runs through Aug. 4. As the museum’s curator of exhibits, Lundgren is adept at identifying and connecting artists and works with contrasting styles and mediums tied together through common themes and sources of inspiration.
