Applying for Federal Financial Aid 

• To receive federal financial aid, complete the FAFSA at .
• Submit your FAFSA by March 1 to avoid any unnecessary delays.
• Include SDSU’s school code on your FAFSA (003471).
• It can take 2-4 weeks for SDSU to receive a completed FAFSA.
• If additional documentation is required, you will be notified by email to your Jacks email account.

Financial Aid à£à£Ö±²¥Ðãs

• You will be notified by email to your Jacks email account when your financial aid awards are available.
• Your awards can be viewed and accepted online through .
• Students who already have a bachelor’s degree are not eligible for Federal Pell Grants.

Payment of Tuition and Fees and Refunds

• Financial aid will be paid directly to your student account.
• If your financial aid exceeds your charges for the term, you will receive a refund.
• To expedite your refund, set up direct-deposit on your  account by clicking the Direct Deposit Refund link under the Financial Information section.

Schedule of Financial Disbursement

• Funds that are ready to disburse will be paid to your account at the start of the term.
• The Cashier’s Office will email you when the funds have been applied to your account and again when your refund is generated if you qualify for a refund.

• If you need additional loans to help cover your costs, go to Private and Alternative Loans and click on FASTChoice to view private and alternative lender options.
• If you feel that have additional expenses (such as childcare or commuting costs) that are not reflected in your cost of attendance, please email SDSU Financial Aid.
