The full list of the courses offered by the School of English and Interdisciplinary Studies is available in the online undergraduate and graduate catalogs. Not all courses are offered every semester: some are offered once each year, and others are offered every other year.
The catalog descriptions are necessarily generic. The specific texts studied and assignments given will vary each time the course is offered. To give prospective students a fuller overview of the rich variety and depth of our course offerings, as well as to aid current students in selecting their courses, we have developed detailed descriptions of the courses for both the current semester and for next semester. These lists do not include the composition courses required of all students. They focus on the courses from which one might choose in pursuing an English major or minor.
