Online Program

The degree in Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) is designed to meet the needs of individuals who work (or plan to work) in some kind of environment related to education and want more advanced training in curriculum design and assessment. The C&I M.Ed. is a 100% online, 30-credit hour program. See below for the C&I areas of emphasis.

Students are able to choose from either a program in which only coursework is required or a program in which they must complete a research project (thesis). All of our graduate courses are online offerings, with a majority of our graduate courses lasting 8 weeks. Semesters are divided into a first half and second half which allow for a student to take two accelerated courses each semester. This means courses individually will be more quickly paced and offer more flexibility for students.

Students will take a mixture of required/core and elective credits, depending on their areas of interest. There are 21 credits of core coursework and 9 credits of electives. See below for the expectations for C&I areas of emphasis. In addition to the C&I degree, SDSU offers coursework to meet the English as a New Language endorsement in South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã. These courses may be completed with no intention of seeking a degree and may be eligible for CEUs.

The degree does not lead to a South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã teaching certificate. If you are interested in becoming a school administrator, we also offer a Masters of Education in educational administration. Visit M. Ed. Educational Administration for more information.
