Veteran Retreat

5th Annual Veteran Retreat

Jan. 12-15 we are hosting our 5th annual Veteran Retreat! Again we are using the serene setting of Deadwood, South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã nestled in the Black Hills, to create a healthy and relaxing atmosphere for our Veterans and Service members.

SDSU Veteran Retreat—funded entirely through local donations—will last three days and host 24 Veterans/Service Members. The retreat is designed to promote whole health and wellness by providing a meaningful experience in nature that facilitates exploration of personal goals, aids discovery of individual strengths and resiliency and comradery. Our Office has partnered with South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Game Fish and Parks and the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Snowmobile Association that has provided funding and expertise for a full day of snowmobiling activities!

Our runs, terrain parks and recreational opportunities are top-notch. It doesn’t matter if you are experienced or just beginning, Terry Peak Ski area offers a variety of runs and activities for all ages and skill levels. Three high-speed detachable quad chairlifts, one fixed grip triple and the snow carpet offer a smooth ride up the slope. Terry Peak has uncrowded slopes and million dollar views. The Stewart Lodge is warm and inviting. The Nevada Gulch Lodge is nostalgic and exciting with its famous Dark Horse Saloon. The weather can change from sunny to snowy in a matter of minutes. And the conditions always seem right for winter fun!

The SDSU Armed Forces Association Veteran Retreat is made possible through the commitment and support of our generous sponsors.
We are an organization of Snowmobilers working to promote and protect snowmobiling in South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã and throughout the country. We work closely with South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã GF&P, local federal forest managers and many State and local legislators to keep the outdoor recreation of snowmobiling alive and well in our State for generations to come. SDSA also partners with the American Council of Snowmobile Associations. ACSA works on a more national level and brings the state associations together as a single stronger voice for Snowmobiling.
