Welcome to the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University! One of eight colleges that make up SDSU, our college has an integral role in fulfilling the land grant mission of the university. In addition to six academic departments, the college is home to both SDSU Extension and the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Agricultural Experiment Station. The SDSU West River Research and Extension is a satellite of the college, and serves as center for teaching, research, extension and outreach activities in the western part of the state. The college is the largest at SDSU in terms of student enrollment, faculty and staff and building space.

SDSU to offer new, future-focused healthcare systems engineering major effective fall 2025

South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University will offer a Bachelor of Science in healthcare systems engineering beginning fall 2025 following South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents approval on Dec. 12. Healthcare systems engineering is a unique, first-in-the-nation undergraduate degree, which will integrate engineering, computer science, data science and health sciences under one degree to prepare students for the emerging career fields.

Researchers in South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University's Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory were the first to identify a new strain of avian metapneumovirus — a highly contagious disease that is currently causing significant problems for the U.S. poultry industry — and are now working toward developing a safe and effective vaccine.

Precision Connect ’24 to showcase SDSU students’ ag internships

Nearly 100 South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University undergraduate students will showcase their ag industry internship experiences at Precision Connect ’24, Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Raven Precision Agriculture Center. This is the fourth annual Precision Connect event, started in conjunction with the 2021 opening of the center.
