Brookings Area United Way supports SDSU-Child and Family Resource Network (CFRN) to provide vision and hearing screenings to children enrolled in registered or licensing child care programs.
The CFRN Registered Nurse connects with registered and licensed childcare providers in Brookings County to schedule vision and hearing screenings. Parents are asked if they wish to participate and provide consent. Screenings are completed onsite at the childcare program and each family is provided a report for their child. If a referral is need, the CFRN nurse will indicates that information for the parent requesting them to follow up with a health care professional.
