Campus Alert – Emergency Notification System

South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University maintains a through Everbridge Emergency Communications for the purpose of issuing immediate notification to keep the SDSU community informed and safe during an emergency situation. There are many components of the system that provide redundant layers of notification to ensure the widest possible distribution of the message, and these system components are regularly tested to ensure proper functionality.

The Campus Alert System through Everbridge is a free service to members of the SDSU community. Students and employees are automatically a part of this system through their campus-assigned email address. , you may set your contact preferences. At the least, it is recommended to assign your mobile phone as a secondary contact. Follow the instructions using your SDSU login credentials.

If you prefer to download the Everbridge application on your mobile device, it is available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

SDSU Alertus Desktop Notifications

South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University has combined its existing Everbridge Emergency Communications product with Alertus, creating a robust and redundant communication system. Once installed, you will receive notifications through Everbridge in the manner you have selected and receive an Alertus announcement on your computer. To remove the message from your screen, simply acknowledge the alert.

Alertus will run on a Mac or PC and, once installed, automatically connects to our emergency notification servers. The tool is great for students, faculty and staff who take advantage of the SDSU network. 

Please note the software must be installed from a computer able to connect to InsideState or MyState with valid credentials. Afterward, it will work from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

Who can subscribe to use this service?

Any active student or employee of the SDSU community with an email address and password used to login to their email can subscribe. If you are a volunteer or an SDSU tenant, please email SDSU Emergency Management.

How can I receive emergency alerts if I'm located by another Board of Regents campus?

If you are not located on the SDSU campus or you live and work closer to another South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents campus, you may update your profile within the system by choosing the "Opt-In" option. This option will let you choose another campus to receive those alerts. All the campuses are listed, and checking a campus will ensure you are notified of its emergencies.

Can I register for text messages if I am located on campus but I am not an SDSU student or employee?

Only if you are an SDSU volunteer, visiting faculty or eligible tenant. The text messaging service is only one of several communication and information sources utilized at SDSU. What types of messages/information will I receive?

You will only receive emergency messages. Occasionally, SDSU may need to test our messaging network to ensure proper operation and functionality in the event of an actual emergency message broadcast.

What is the cost of this service?

The service is free; however, standard text messaging rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details on your plan.

How do I unsubscribe from these services?

Although all SDSU students and employees are mandated by the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents to have their email uploaded to the system, you can opt-out all other contact information by logging into the and updating your contact preferences.

What if my mobile phone number changes?

You simply log into using your SDSU email address and password and update your account.

I am a parent. Can I register for the text messaging service?

What happens if I transfer or leave South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University?

Prior to leaving, you can opt-out by logging into the using your campus email and selecting Opt-Out and removing your contact information.
