About Us

We are a group of dynamic environmental scientists working on developing remote sensing algorithms and global products for investigating biomass burning emissions, land surface phenology, land cover and land use changes, and climate-terrestrial ecosystem interaction. Our research group is committed to pioneering the exploration of climate-terrestrial ecosystem interaction, leveraging advanced remote sensing technology.

SDSU faculty recognized for excellence

The annual South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized 25 faculty members, researchers and scientists Tuesday. The event honors faculty members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.

SDSU’s remote sensing program earns world ranking  

South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University’s remote sensing program has been ranked as one of the top academic programs in the world by the Shanghai Ranking’s 2022 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. SDSU’s program, housed in the Geospatial Sciences Center of Excellence, Department of Geography and Geospatial Sciences, came in at 22nd in the world and the fifth-best program in the United States. It trails only the University of Maryland, College Park; California Institute of Technology, Boston University and Mississippi State University.
