Computer Science

Computer Science is the study of methodical processes and analysis of computational algorithms and processes for efficient implementation and automation. It deals with efficient data transfer, storage and manipulation.

SDSU's computer science (CS) program offers rigorous, practical degree programs at the Bachelors and Masters levels and is active in a number of research areas providing research opportunities to both graduate and undergraduate students.

The computer science program began in 1980 and has been on the leading edge of computer science education ever since. Offering a Master of Science, in addition to the undergraduate degree, SDSU's computer science program is truly a regional leader. The computer science program has been accredited since 2007.

SDSU's computer science graduates are in great demand and are rewarded with high salaries and exciting careers. According to the 2017 National Association of Colleges and Employers Salary Survey, the average starting salary for computer science graduates with a bachelor's degree ranges from $61,648 to $75,624, depending on the region of the country.
