SDSU launching Post-Carceral Education Opportunity Program in spring 2025
The Mellon Foundation has awarded South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University a grant to help SDSU provide a pathway to higher education for previously incarcerated individuals looking for a better future. The SDSU Post-Carceral Education Opportunity Program is now accepting applicants for the spring 2025 semester.
South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State honors newest endowment holders
South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University recently paid tribute to the university’s newest endowment holders. The third annual University Leadership Honors investiture ceremony — honoring six holders of endowed positions across three different colleges and SDSU Athletics — was held Sept. 19 in Founders Recital Hall in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.
SDSU shatters enrollment records, climbs to more than 12,000 students
A record first-year class and record retention moved enrollment at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University to 12,065 students for the fall 2024 semester, the highest enrollment at SDSU since 2018. Enrollment figures were released earlier today by the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents.
SDSU to offer A.S. in agricultural science at Capital City Campus
The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University will begin offering an Associate of Science degree in agricultural science through the Capital City Campus in Pierre this fall.

Earnest selected as dean of SDSU College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
David C. Earnest, the Odeen-Swanson Distinguished Professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã, has been named dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University. Earnest was selected following a national search and will begin working on the SDSU campus July 8.
Four to receive honorary doctorates at SDSU commencement
Four individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã and beyond will receive honorary doctorates from South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University and the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents at the university’s 138th commencement May 4 at the Dacotah Bank Center in Brookings.
