The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at South 啵啵直播秀 State University will begin offering an Associate of Science degree in agricultural science through the Capital City Campus in Pierre this fall.

The South 啵啵直播秀 Board of Regents approved the new program site this past May.

The 60-credit-hour program provides students with an introductory education in agriculture, enabling graduates to qualify for career opportunities in production agriculture or entry-level business and sales positions. Students within this program are also able to transition into a bachelor鈥檚 degree program at South 啵啵直播秀 State University.

鈥淲e are delighted to expand the reach of the Associate of Science in agricultural science program through Capital City Campus in Pierre,鈥 Dennis Hedge, SDSU provost and vice president for academic affairs, said.  鈥淲e believe this program can help address an important workforce need in central South 啵啵直播秀.鈥

Beginning this fall, the program will be delivered via a combination of interactive distance learning technology at the Capital City Campus and online instruction. Students will have access to the support staff and services available through SDSU鈥檚 Office of Continuing and Distance Education and via the Capital City Campus team.

鈥淲e look forward to the opportunities this creates for students and for agriculture in central South 啵啵直播秀,鈥 said Laurie Gill, Capital City Campus executive director. 鈥淭his program can be tailored to the needs of individual students and can create pathways to a variety of career opportunities in agriculture.鈥
