Who We Serve
The center offers a range of proctoring services for SDSU, Black Hills State University and University of South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã students, as well as other students both in and outside of the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents system. Students taking an online course through an SDBOR or non-SDBOR institution are eligible to have their exams proctored at the testing center. Students with a documented disability are eligible for reasonable testing accommodations. Testing Center services are also available to College of Nursing students at other locations.
Services Offered
The Testing Center in Rapid City is currently only serving students for the following exams:
- Computer-based and paper proctored exams for online courses.
- Makeup exams (requires instructor preapproval).
- Reasonable accommodation testing.
- Assessment Technologies Institute assessments.
- ACCUPLACER placement exams.
Proctoring services for College-Level Examination Program or other tests cannot be scheduled at this time. We will be adding these services in the near future, please check back soon. These tests are offered at other locations.

Testing is by advance online appointment only. Please schedule at least 48 hours (two business days) in advance. Schedule your appointment through RegisterBlast below.

If you are feeling ill, please reschedule your exam while you self-isolate. If you are required to quarantine, you may not test at the testing center.
For Instructors: Please email the College of Nursing Testing Center to request a proctoring form with your exam requirements and instructions.
Requirements for Testing
Testing center capacity: Eleven computers/stations with four extra seats for students using their own laptops with ethernet hardwire.
If using your own laptop with ethernet, please bring your own ethernet adapter. Adapters will not be provided.
A photo ID card is required for testing. Please bring a student ID, driver's license, government-issued ID card or passport. Scratch paper and pencils are provided. Any other materials, such as a calculator, must be preapproved with your instructor and notified to the proctor for usage per your exam instructions.
Students must check in 15 minutes before exam. If student is not seated by exam start time, student will be considered late and will need to reschedule accordingly with instructor. All South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents holidays will be observed. If Black Hills State University-Rapid City is closed due to inclement weather, the testing center will also be closed.
No food or drink is allowed in the testing room. Lockers are provided for personal items.
You can bring your own laptop to use. Please ensure you have the appropriate LockDown Browser preinstalled that your instructor requires for the exam.
Face coverings are optional due to the university being at Face Covering Protocol Level 0, effective May 10, 2021.
Reasonable Accomodations
Americans with Disabilities Act Accommodations
SDSU provides reasonable accommodations for individuals in conformity with the Americans with Disabilities Act, its amendments and implementing regulations. Accommodations for students are made once the disability has been verified the Disability Services office. Students interested in receiving accommodations, may email the Disability Services office or call 605-688-4504.
Documentation of a disability must be provided to and approved by the Disability Services office before testing arrangements can be made. Once accommodations are approved, testing appointments are made with the Testing Center through RegisterBlast.

Kacey Meador is the Testing Center, assessment and evaluation director. She began working in the College of Nursing in 2018, with involvement in both undergraduate and graduate nursing assessment and evaluation. She manages and proctors a variety of exams for all South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents students at the SDSU College of Nursing Testing Center, located at the Black Hills State University-Rapid City building in Rapid City. Her prior experience managing a testing center in Las Vegas, Nevada, will allow testing services to expand to accommodate more in the community soon. She utilizes her assessment and evaluation expertise to implement the College of Nursing plan for data collection, retention, storage, interpretation and distribution of relevant assessment and accreditation outcomes across all nursing departments and programs.
