The concrete materials science minor provides graduates with a solid background in concrete and related materials technology. The concrete industry is a large part of the growing construction industry. There is strong demand for graduates with knowledge to work in the construction field at many levels including construction management, cost estimator or contractor. Graduates will learn about the concrete industry - specific safety practices and potential hazards, concrete mix design technology, cost estimating skills and specific properties of plastic and hardened concrete. Majors that would benefit from the minor include, but are not limited to, architecture, construction management, mechanical engineering, operations management, civil engineering and entrepreneurial studies.
