Mathematics (B.S.) - Teaching Specialization
To make an impact - teaching.
The world becomes more technologically sophisticated every year. As a result, so do the best careers. If our nation's young people are to be prepared for those careers, they're going to need the help of skilled mathematics educators such as those prepared by the SDSU mathematics education program. Our program is fairly unique in that our students receive a B.S. in mathematics with teaching specialization rather than the more common B.S. in education. The extra degree of mathematical mastery that comes with the B.S. in mathematics allows our mathematics education graduates to give their own students the full benefit of a deep understanding of mathematics and how it will be used in their university studies and careers. It also prepares our graduates exceptionally well for graduate school. If you love mathematics and want to make a difference in the lives of young people, SDSU’s B.S. in mathematics with teaching specialization is a great way to go!
