The School of American and Global Studies, also known as AGS, provides students with unparalleled opportunities to learn about and help solve the grand challenges of an ever-changing and interconnected world. Our students work and learn alongside award-winning faculty both in and out of the classroom. Through faculty-led study abroad programs and several research and outreach centers housed in the School, our students gain hands-on research and job skills that will advance their future careers or graduate studies. Our graduates are Rhodes scholars, Harvard law students and U.S. Department of State interns, just to name a few examples!

SDSU faculty member receives second Fulbright Scholar à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã to Senegal

Molly Krueger Enz, a Distinguished Professor in the School of American and Global Studies at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University, has received a 2024-25 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to Senegal where she will teach and conduct research.

Changing the journalism narrative

The field of journalism has had hard criticisms in recent years. One individual is looking to change that through the power of books … and her cat. Miranda O’Bryan is a Martin native and a 2020 graduate from the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University School of Communication and Journalism and School of American and Global Studies. She also held the title of Miss South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã 2023, where she used her platform for awareness of literacy rates and addressing the misconceptions of the journalism field.
