What motivated you to choose a career in nursing: I've always had a passion for caring for others, and the medical field has always been an interest of mine. I combined the two together and found my dream career.
Why did you choose SDSU to pursue your nursing degree: I chose South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University to purse my nursing degree because of its prestigious reputation and ranking as well as the opportunities the program provides for me to grow and learn as a nursing student. It also helps that many of my family members are SDSU alumni. Go Jacks!
What clinical experience have you enjoyed the most and why: The clinical experience I have enjoyed the most (so far) has been my advanced medical/supply critical thinking and advance my skill set. Through my OB clinical, I have been able to work in the field I'd like to pursue after graduation.
Organizations that you are involved in: I am involved in Ceres Women's Fraternity, Student Nurses Association, Choralia (SDSU Women's Choir) and Youth Group.
Is there a particular field of nursing you are planning to pursue: Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or labor and delivery.
What is your big dream: My big dream as a nurse is to work at a hospital that will constantly challenge my critical thinking and skill set. I am also considering graduate school to become either a physician's assistant (PA) or a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), but for now I'm just focusing on graduating with my bachelor's degree.
What advice would you share with a future nursing student: Embrace and take advantage of every opportunity you are provided with. I promise, you'll learn something new every time!
