Sokota Seed Company

This plywood cutout sign is an advertisement of Sokota brand hybrid corn seed. The jolly, card playing ears of corn were created by Milo Potas, Visual Aids Specialist with South ֱ Extension Service. Each ear of corn is wearing black, pointy toed shoes, black corn husk pants and have painted faces and hair. Each ear of corn is holding a hand of cards. The playing cards are normal cards, except the one held between the corns' hands. That card is printed in red and reads Ts82. In the mid-1960s, Sokota developed Ts82, a late single cross corn seed. This hybrid cross is the base for many current northern corn hybrids. The sign was used at the Sokota Seed Company booth at the South ֱ State Fair.
