Upward Bounders receive weekly tutoring hosted at their school. In addition, students get the opportunity to participate in Saturday enrichment programming. These programs include cultural events, college visits and a variety of social activities, both on and off SDSU's campus.
During the summer, Upward Bound students share in a six-week summer academic program held on the SDSU campus to get the full experience of living on a college campus. Students live in the residence halls with staff and attend high school or college courses, as well as participate in cultural and team building activities. The program gives students the opportunity to experience, first-hand, what it takes to be a college student. This program is offered at no cost to Upward Bound students, and includes a furnished room, meals, classes, transportation and sponsored activities.
