For Faculty

Subject librarians help all members of the campus community access and effectively use information resources. We meet with individuals and small groups for research consultations, provide library instruction sessions for classes, assist with selecting books and other materials, and provide information on library policies and procedures. Each university department has a designated subject librarian who is the main contact person in the library for students, staff and faculty.

Instruction Services

Subject librarians support classroom learning at SDSU by providing instruction sessions on finding, accessing, and evaluating information resources. Our instruction sessions are tailored to your class and range from a brief introduction to the library to in-depth sessions. We can create supporting materials such as short videos, handouts, and course or research guides. And, we're available to help you design effective research assignments.
