Athletic training advocacy leads to licensure law change
The career possibilities for athletic trainers in South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã are expanding thanks to the efforts of a South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University clinical assistant professor. Educating future athletic trainers in the SDSU School of Health and Consumer Sciences and serving as the president of the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Athletic Trainers’ Association, Mary Beth Zwart has made an impact on the profession and on her students.
SDState, USD faculty come together for Brahms chamber music recital
Music faculty from South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University and the University of South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã will present a recital of chamber music composed by Johannes Brahms starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in Founders Recital Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

Pravecek earns College of Nursing's Outstanding Researcher à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã
Brandi Pravecek, a clinical assistant professor in South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University's College of Nursing, was named the college's Outstanding Researcher for 2023. It is the first time Pravecek has won the award.
Olson’s impact on SDSU College of Nursing continues
Roberta Olson is a 1964 South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University nursing graduate, and it would be 30 years following her undergraduate graduation before she returned to campus to serve as dean of the College of Nursing. The college saw significant changes and growth during Olson’s 20-year tenure as dean, and her impact continues today, with a financial commitment announced last fall to endow the position she used to hold.
Otheim’s commitment to service leads to Sanford scholarship
It’s clear Ellise Otheim had a passion for service before she even enrolled at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
SDSU's Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau wins national chapter award
The Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University has been named a 2023 Chapter Key à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã recipient by Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor society of nurses. It is the second time the SDSU chapter has received the award, the first being in 2021.
