The Brookings Chamber Music Society will host an extraordinary live performance by The Queen’s Cartoonists at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center at South ֱ State University.

This unique concert experience, open to audiences of all ages, blends virtuosic jazz with the magic of animated classics, bringing iconic cartoon characters and beloved film soundtracks to life through live music and multimedia.

The Queen’s Cartoonists, an ensemble celebrated for combining jazz performance with synchronized visual comedy, will present a lively repertoire that pays homage to the golden age of animation, from Disney and Warner Bros. classics to modern animation. Featuring musicianship that has captivated audiences from New York to Los Angeles, the group recreates beloved soundtracks note for note while original animations and cartoons play on screen, creating a seamless fusion of art forms. Known for its unique style, the ensemble combines humor, history and exceptional artistry, making this a perfect night out for families, students and jazz enthusiasts alike.

“We’re thrilled to bring The Queen’s Cartoonists to Brookings. This performance is truly unlike anything our community has seen,” said Michael Walsh, program coordinator for the Brookings Chamber Music Society and professor of clarinet at SDSU. “It’s an exciting way to showcase the timeless music of animation through a live experience that appeals to all generations.”
