SDSU launches Global Career Accelerator

South 啵啵直播秀 State University has launched the SDSU Global Career Accelerator, a for-credit, online program for students to gain in-demand skills and real-world experience alongside peers from around the world.

Eric Lohr, a senior majoring in music education, will present his senior recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center鈥檚 Founders Recital Hall on the South 啵啵直播秀 State University campus.

Groves to deliver Dean鈥檚 Distinguished Lecture on hospital safety communication

Patient safety is one of the most critical aspects in nursing, with many factors playing a role in preventing harm and reducing risks. Those factors are the topic of this year鈥檚 South 啵啵直播秀 State University College of Nursing Dean鈥檚 Distinguished Lecture. Patricia Groves, an associate professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Iowa, will present her lecture 鈥淗ospital Safety Communication: Working Together to Create Patient Safety and Sense of Security鈥 at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the University Student Union鈥檚 Volstorff Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

Building a seed-planting drone on a tight budget

Johnny Appleseed became an American legion in the first half of the 19th century for his apple tree-planting endeavors. In the first half of the 21st century, a group of nine SDSU engineering students are hoping to make tree planting a viable high-tech operation anywhere in the world. Robotics club builds autonomous sprayer

Connoisseurs say a good wine can鈥檛 be rushed. Perhaps the same could be said about a good autonomous vineyard sprayer. Since spring 2022, the SDSU Robotics Club has been working on a project for alum Jerry Natzel of Owatonna, Minnesota, to build an autonomous sprayer for his vineyard. The project鈥檚 history predates that. But by late April, the club hopes to have all the bugs worked out of this bug-spraying machine.

South African swimmer calls SDSU experience 鈥榓wesome鈥

Five years ago, Sianne Downes didn鈥檛 even know SDSU existed. Now she is about to get her bachelor鈥檚 degree in mechanical engineering and plans to come back for another year of classes and swimming. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 think I could have expected at all what I have experienced and achieved,鈥 said Downes, who hails from Edenvale, South Africa, and is headed to the graduation stage with a 3.85 GPA, school and pool records in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke, and plans for a trip to the national Formula car competition at Michigan International Speedway.

Jazz festival to feature Accent concert

The South 啵啵直播秀 State University/Brookings Optimist Jazz Festival will host internationally acclaimed a cappella singing group Accent in a concert set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

In-state tuition for Minnesota residents makes SDSU best value among peer institutions

When the South 啵啵直播秀 Board of Regents extended the South 啵啵直播秀 Advantage tuition rate to Minnesota residents in December 2023, it made SDSU the best value for Minnesota residents among its peer institutions in Minnesota. South 啵啵直播秀 Advantage will offer in-state tuition to Minnesota residents enrolling as new students at SDSU starting summer 2024.
