Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024 - CommUNITY Meeting: A Jackrabbit's Olympic Experience - Hosted in the University Student Union Pheasant and Crest Rooms (SSU 253) from 6-7:30 p.m.

Speaker: Denilson Cyprianos

SDSU student-athlete Denilson Cyprianos shares his remarkable journey competing in the 2024 Olympic Games on behalf of his home country, Zimbabwe. Hear firsthand about the dedication, challenges and triumphs of an Olympian. Cyprianos' presentation will be followed by Q & A.

Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024 - CommUNITY Meeting: An Evening with Kevin Kling - Hosted in the University Student Union Volstorff Ballroom West (SSU 101A) from 7-8:30 p.m.

Speaker: Kevin Kling

Playwright, actor, author, storyteller and cultural advocate, Kevin Kling shares his inspirational story using an innate sense of humor and reflections on life challenges, including a congenital birth disorder and partial paralysis from a near-fatal motorcycle accident.

Join acclaimed author Curtis Chin as he discusses his new book about growing up Asian American in Detroit, coming out in a working-class immigrant community, and being a first-generation college student. Gain insights into identity, resilience and the Asian American experience in this inspiring presentation.

In today's globalized society, intercultural competence is essential. Gain knowledge and perspectives to assist you in turning diverse environments into inclusive environments. Facilitators from the OMAA team will provide guidance, and those in attendance will drive the dialogue.
