South 啵啵直播秀 State University has been, from the beginning, a national leader in dairy science. In 1896, the 啵啵直播秀 Agricultural College, now South 啵啵直播秀 State University, acquired its first herd of twenty-five dairy cows and twelve years later (1907), the Dairy Science Department is officially formed.

This milk bottle is from the College Creamery. The front screen printed label has a blue Campanile over an orange background. Flanking the Campanile is 鈥淐ollege Creamery鈥. The back label lists what is available at the creamery鈥擟ream, Buttermilk, Chocolate Drink, Cottage Cheese, Butter and Eggs. To buy dairy items, customers visited the creamery which was located west of The Barn/Gymnasium (1900-1962). In 1962, SDSU built the new Alfred Dairy Science and Microbiology Building. In 2010, funding was available for renovations to the building and the Dairy Bar was relocated and updated. Today, you can visit the Dairy Bar and enjoy a dish of SDSU鈥檚 delicious ice cream.
