This photograph is from a lantern slide from the Soil and Erosion Survey conducted by the South ��ֱ���� State University Agronomy Department during the drought years of the 1930s. The man is driving a horse drawn Deering Binder.  The horses are wearing light canvas covers to keep flies, insects and other irritants from bothering them.
