This peaceful snowy street scene was photographed in Brookings in 1923. It appears that the sidewalk has been plowed once, but new snow is falling. This image is on a glass plate negative that was taken by South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State College professor of agronomy Joseph G. Hutton. Hutton’s research focused on soil restoration and conservation, but when he was not working he was writing poetry or taking photographs. He took photos of his family, South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State College students, faculty and activities, landscapes and the community.
