What we do.

In the College of Education and Human Sciences, we focus on enhancing human potential and improving lives and communities through the promotion of mental, physical and financial health.

EHS is home to two schools: the School of Education, Counseling and Human Development and the School of Health and Human Sciences. We offer 19 undergraduate programs, 16 minors and more than 20 graduate programs and certificates that prepare our students to become leaders and advocates of well-being that address global issues related to health and education.

Our faculty provide a world-class education, conduct leading research and fulfill our university鈥檚 mission of outreach by impacting and positively changing communities in our region. Dedicated to the academic, professional and personal successes of our students, our faculty is second to none.

Child and Family Resource Network to host 鈥楥ommon-Sense Parenting鈥 classes in January, February

The Child and Family Resource Network at South 啵啵直播秀 State University is hosting its next 鈥淐ommon-Sense Parenting鈥 class series starting Jan. 7. The free, six-class series is designed for parents and individuals who engage with school-age children, kindergarten through 12th grade.

StrengthenHER program to reduce risk of muscle loss

South 啵啵直播秀 State University associate professor Lee Weidauer has received a federal grant to develop a program that helps women reduce their risk of sarcopenia, a condition that results from excessive muscle loss with aging.

SDSU alum named S.D. Teacher of the Year

Amy Verhelst, a 2013 early childhood education graduate from South 啵啵直播秀 State University and current Sioux Valley Elementary kindergarten teacher in Volga, was recognized as the 2025 South 啵啵直播秀 Teacher of the Year in September.
