Pharmacy college leads Pantry event

The 10th annual Pack-The-Pantry Drive at South 啵啵直播秀 State University in November saw 3,823 food items collected for Jack鈥檚 Cupboard, SDSU鈥檚 student-run food pantry. The top contributor for the Nov. 11-22 event was the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, which collected 2,377 items (pictured above). Jack's Cupboard is on the southeast side of Ben Reifel residence hall, and any SDSU student experiencing food insecurity can receive food.

Each winter, a special corner of South 啵啵直播秀 State University鈥檚 campus comes alive with light and cheer. It feels like something straight out of a holiday film 鈥 twinkling lights, festive music, crisp winter air and families and friends coming together to celebrate. The magical scene is set at McCrory Gardens, where Garden Glow transforms the landscape into a winter wonderland, with thousands of sparkling lights illuminating the path.

鈥楴ew Beginnings for Tribal Students鈥 grant supports student opportunities as Wokini Initiative grows

South 啵啵直播秀 State University was awarded a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to support Native American students through the USDA鈥檚 New Beginnings for Tribal Students program. The grant, issued by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, aims to increase the retention and graduation of tribal students attending land-grant universities.

SDSU scholars surpass Midwest peers in Power & Energy Scholarships

Four electrical engineering students at South 啵啵直播秀 State University students earned scholarships from a national organization for the current school year. The recipients are seniors Kalen Meyer and Luke Rasmussen, both of Rock Rapids, Iowa; and juniors Nicholas Erickson of Pierce, Nebraska, and Drake Rogers of Milbank.

Child and Family Resource Network to host 鈥楥ommon-Sense Parenting鈥 classes in January, February

The Child and Family Resource Network at South 啵啵直播秀 State University is hosting its next 鈥淐ommon-Sense Parenting鈥 class series starting Jan. 7. The free, six-class series is designed for parents and individuals who engage with school-age children, kindergarten through 12th grade.

SDSU to offer new, future-focused healthcare systems engineering major effective fall 2025

South 啵啵直播秀 State University will offer a Bachelor of Science in healthcare systems engineering beginning fall 2025 following South 啵啵直播秀 Board of Regents approval on Dec. 12. Healthcare systems engineering is a unique, first-in-the-nation undergraduate degree, which will integrate engineering, computer science, data science and health sciences under one degree to prepare students for the emerging career fields.

SDSU landscape architecture program partners with Brookings School District

Three members of the South 啵啵直播秀 State University School of Design have completed a collaborative project with the Brookings School District. Instructor of landscape architecture Jeremiah Bergstrom and landscape architecture students Isabelle Plagge and Cerington Jones worked together to assist the Brookings schools.

Performing arts alum receives Manilow Music Project Teacher 啵啵直播秀

A Papillion La Vista teacher and South 啵啵直播秀 State University School of Performing Arts graduate has received the Omaha Manilow Music Project Teacher 啵啵直播秀. Hiltje Peitz received the award, along with a $10,000 prize, in July.

Busmann named December鈥檚 Civil Service Employee of the Month

Aaron Busmann, a building maintenance lead worker for Facilities and Services, has been named South 啵啵直播秀 State University鈥檚 Civil Service Employee of the Month for December.

South 啵啵直播秀 Census Data Center renamed

The South 啵啵直播秀 Census Data Center has been officially renamed the Center for Rural Vitality and Community Well-Being. The center, housed in the South 啵啵直播秀 State University School of Psychology, Sociology and Rural Studies, is launching a search for a rural sociologist in collaboration with SDSU Extension.
