The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department faculty conduct research in the fields of bridge engineering, earthquake resistant structures, multi-hazard assessment and mitigation, traffic operations and safety, transportation infrastructure, breaking waves and river hydraulics, fate and transport of contaminants, water/wastewater treatment processes and biological filtration and soil stability and deep foundations.

Our Labs
The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department maintains an advanced infrastructure in support of faculty and student research activities. State-of-the-art laboratories provide the backbone for experimental research in most of the civil engineering sub-disciplines.
