Are you a South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã high school student interested in learning more about engineering and transportation?

Then, the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University’s National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) may be right for you! All selected students will receive scholarship for a week-long residential camp sponsored by South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Department of Transportation. The scholarship will cover the cost of on-campus housing, food and workshops so the camp is free!

During your camp you will be introduced to different aspects of transportation engineering, such as planning, materials and transportation modes among other topics. You’ll also have an opportunity to participate in hands-on lab activities in workshops and learn from experts about the transportation sector and the problems transportation engineers solve.

At the end of the summer camp students will have a better understanding of related degrees and career opportunities involved in Transportation.

Campers will:

• Tour Local Businesses to better understand all traffic management types.
• Tour Brookings Regional Airport to learn about operations and take flight in your own flight simulator.
• Learn the importance of soil, asphalt and concrete materials.
• Learn how renewable energies can impact transportation.
• Learn about different types of transportation: air, water, solar and space.
• Nightly Activities include: bowling, movie, archery, SDSU Miller Wellness Center and cricket with the dean.
